Why Dural Real Estate is so desirable

People who buy Dural Real Estate tend to put down roots and stay a while. Why? Well it’s idyllic. It really is. Dural is impossibly green, tree lined and full of blooming flowers. But it’s more than that.

Dural has a unique feeling of community. It has small town vibes but offers everything you could need at its doorstop. If you’ve lived there a while, shop assistants will probably greet you by name. It’s that kind of town where you still get personal service and unique items that just can’t be found in the large metropolitan shopping centres.

You’ll eat Dural up

Well known for its cafes and restaurants, you want to arrive in Dural with your appetite fully intact. If high tea is your thing, you’ll be spoilt for choice with many of the local cafes offering scones, and tiny sandwiches and pretty pastries that taste as good as they look. Try the House of Herbs and Roses, their high tea is a hit with locals and visitors alike.

But if you’re looking for something more sophisticated in the culinary stakes, you’ll find it in Dural too – one of the Cafes (The Wild Pear) even has 2019’s MasterChef winner on staff. And Biviano’s Italian Restaurant is a local favourite for modern Italian food in a refined setting. If you want a restaurant that’s a bit more family friendly, you should check out Bell Fiore. Pirates Grill boasts the ‘Best Burgers in Dural’, where as Dural Chickens (located 3/500 Old Northern Road) are so well known they don’t even need a website!  And for all the sweet-tooth’s out there, Dolcettini will tick boxes you didn’t even know needed ticking. Dural also has an array of international dining options, including Indian, Thai, Greek and Afghan food. You can even take a hands-on approach and be taught how to whip up gastronomic delights in The Cooks Workshop.

The brilliant part about Dural is that it’s always evolving. There’s a couple of exciting new venues that have just opened including Enzo’s Cucina Dural. And coming in November 2020 is the Duke of Dural (brought to you by the owners of the Bella Vista Hotel).


Things to do in Dural

Many of the cafes are attached to nurseries. You can while away the hours meandering through acres of plants. From natives to exotics you’ll find it in Dural. Check out Swane’s Nurseries or Engall’s Nursery if roses set your pulse racing – they’re renowned for them. And when Christmas rolls around, you might opt for one of the locally grown real Christmas Trees – there’s no smell like a genuine Christmas tree (we hear Santa’s a fan).

You’ll find local fruit stores on the side of the road. You get fruit that is plump and delicious and oh so good for the body and soul. From strawberries, to peaches to snow peas – you can find them all when they’re in season.

When you live in Dural you can spend your weekends exploring the Dural Growers Market or rummaging in the local shops to find something a bit unique. If you want to splash some serious cash, check out Christensons Jewellers – their custom and readymade creations are out of this world. And if you need some flowers to go with that diamond ring (wink wink), there are many flower growers selling fresh floral arrangements in the area.

Dural Putt Putt is located on the outskirts of Dural and offers hours of entertainment for families, kids, and groups of friends.

Horses abound in Dural so dust off your jodhpurs and get ready to ride. If you never ridden there’s lots of riding schools to choose from in the area and even the requisite Pony Club for the kids. There’s also the Golden Ridge Animal Farm if you want to pat, feed, or hold some farm animals. You can even milk a cow if the desire takes you.

There’s so much to offer in Dural

If this is all sounding way to country for you – keep in mind that Dural has everything you need. From supermarkets, to McDonalds, to medical centres and chemists, to HiFi shops for all your home theatre needs. There’s even an art supply shop for artistic types and lessons on offer for artists in waiting (for kids and adults).

It’s a refined and elegant suburb with a semi-rural charm and suburban conveniences.

Dural really is two worlds merged into one. And if you need a fix of the big smoke, you can hop in your car and be in the city in under 40 minutes. Or drive to nearby Castle Hill and use the Metro.

Should I buy into the Dural real estate market?

When it comes to property in Dural, many people opt for the dream home on five acres but there are also some gorgeous suburban streets in Dural with more manageable blocks of land. There’re older houses crying out for renovation (with Dural Bunnings on hand for supplies) and there are homes that are majestically modern. The schools in the area are outstanding. Whether you want to go private or public there are excellent options on hand. Elite schools like Redfield College are situated in Dural. And Hills Grammar, Oakhill College and the renowned Cherrybrook Technology High are just around the corner. For fans of Steiner education, there’s Lorien Novalis. And for the little kids, you couldn’t ask for a nicer school than Dural Public School.

With a low crime rate and high feel good factor – Dural is the place for relaxed, clean living that makes you glad to be alive.
