Roof Maintenance

From all reports, its going to be a wet summer. In processing many landlord storm damaged ceilings claims, flooring etc due to water leaks over the years, the majority of claims were not fully covered as the roofs had not been maintained. This included gutter and downpipe cleaning.

A well-maintained roof is essential for the security and safety of those living in your investment. A solid roof will keep your house structurally sound, stops leaks and moisture getting into your dry wall preventing damage and mould.

Roof maintenance is the landlord’s responsibility and includes gutter cleaning. Wear and tear may not always be as clear and visible as crack tiles or holes and professional roofers know the hidden signs and know how to work on potentially dangerous roofs and are insured to do so.

I highly recommend if you have not undergone any recent roof inspections/maintenance you do so in preparation of the coming months and to ensure you are fully insured in relation to building insurance.
